Neonatal Gut Microbiome in a mother child paired design

It is believed that establishment of gut microbiome starts very early in life and is crucial for growth immunity and long term metabolic health. In this longitudinal study we recruited mothers in their third trimester of whom some had vaginal delivery while other experienced unplanned C section. The mother neonate pairs were followed up for one year and we generated metagenomic data to study the neonatal gut microbiome along with mother breast milk and vaginal microbiomes through one Month three Months six Months twelve Months after delivery.
