<p><span style="color:rgb( 20 , 20 , 19 )">Research data for an article discussing two variants of whistleblowing related to Catholicism in Poland after 1989. The first, called usurpative, primarily reports cases of offense to religious feelings; it criticizes contemporary culture from the perspective of Catholic morality and uses legal instruments (constitutional protection of freedom of conscience; criminal code) to ensure that religion has precedence over secular law. The second type of whistleblowing, called centripetal, presents the Church as a criminal or pathological organization, aims to delegitimize the Church as a moral authority, and demands that this institution be judged in the majesty of (secular) law. Neither of the two types of whistleblowing can achieve the desired goals, but their existence and the conflict between them are treated in the article as a symptom of a deep rift that runs through social life and threatens the integrity of the state.</span></p>
