The invention relates to a plate-shaped material comprising lignocellulosic fibers and binders. In order to provide a plate-shaped material which has reduced swelling when using fibers， it is provided that the proportion of the binding agent comprises more than 50% by weight of the plate-shaped material. The invention further comprises a method for producing the plate-shaped material.
