Im Spiegel der Literatur Reflexionen über die Entwicklung der Supervision von Musiktherapeuten im deutschsprachigen Raum Through the Looking Glass of Literature. Reflections on the Development of Supervision for Music Therapists in German-speaking Regions

Im Mittelpunkt dieses Beitrags steht die Auseinandersetzung mit der deutschsprachigen Literatur zum Thema Supervision aus dreieinhalb Jahrzehnten der fachlichen Entwicklung nicht nur dieses Bereichs, sondern letztendlich der Musiktherapie überhaupt. Zu ihren Aufgaben gehört nämlich – so die Übereinstimmung – die Beratung der beruflichen Wirklichkeit und die Sicherung und Begleitung der (musik-)therapeutischen Kompetenz. Ob das ein- und dasselbe, das Eine im Anderen enthalten ist oder zweierlei mit unterschiedlicher Orientierung und Fokussierung, steht als Frage im Raum und bildet eine Art Leitmotiv; denn damit verbunden ist die Frage, ob Musiktherapeuten eine spezifische, eben musiktherapeutische Supervision benötigen. Das wiederum zieht die Frage nach der notwendigen Qualifikation des Supervisors nach sich ebenso wie die eines Einsatzes musiktherapeutischer Methoden und Verfahren in der Supervision selbst. Central to this article is the analysis of German language literature concerning the subject of supervision during three and a half decades of professional development, not only in this area, but ultimately for music therapy altogether. Belonging to their responsibilities – as commonly agreed, is the counseling of professional reality as well as securing and supporting (music) therapy competence. The question arises if this is one and the same thing, if one is included in the other, or if both are to be viewed with different orientation and focus – leading to a kind of leitmotif. Associated with this is the question as to whether or not music therapists specifically require explicit music therapy supervision. This in turn raises the question of qualifications necessary for supervisors, along with the use of music therapy methods and procedures in supervision itself. peerReviewed publishedVersion
