Data from an Archaeological Strip and Record Excavation at Heathcote Lane/Gallows Hill, Warwick, Warwickshire, 2020

This digital archive comprises images and site record data from an archaeological strip and record excavation within a single field located between Heathcote Lane/Gallows Hill and Banbury Road, to the south-east of Warwick town centre. The work was undertaken in between February and July 2020 by CFA Archaeology Ltd. The programme of works targeted an area identified as of archaeological interest by a previous trial trenching evaluation, which exposed three small pits of possible late prehistoric/Roman date in Trench 7 towards the south of the strip and record area and a possible, undated cremation burial in Trench 10 to the north. A north east/south-west aligned ditch was also recorded within Trench 10.
