Deciphering the genome of cotton (Gossypium spp.), an important source of natural fiber is a crucial foundation for fiber biology research and its important agronomic traits. One of the major challenges for superior fiber is the poor understanding of the detailed molecular mechanisms underlying both genotypes i.e. superior and inferior and its deferential nature towards fiber development. We used Roche's GS-FLX transcriptome sequencing for a comparative analysis of cotton transcriptome of inferior and superior genotypes.
