Urban Infrastructure Envelope from the IGN Topo CD in 2016 The envelope here consists of the right-of-way of the roads and railways of the IGN Topo BD (data from April 2016): It consists of the following elements of the Topo comic book: — ROAD — TRACK-FERREE — TRIAGE Area (railway) — Surface ROUTIERE (parking) The artificialised surface area of the infrastructure is not accurate because we do not have very precise data on each infrastructure. Indeed, the BD-TOPO does not always give us information on the width of certain sections of road or the width of the tracks. In this case (when the width was not given or equal to 0), by default we granted a width of 2 metres (1 metre of par and other of the axis of the road or track). However, this information remains interesting because it can give us an idea on the minimum areas consumed by infrastructure. By visualising the hold generated in this treatment with an aerial view, one can see that we are quite close to reality although the surfaces consumed remain less important than that observed in reality.
