Supplementary material: Phylogeochemistry: exploring evolutionary constraints on belemnite rostrum element composition

This dataset contains three files: S1: Excel file listing literature data (Mg, Sr, Mn and Fe concentrations and/or their ratios to Ca) of main and trace elements from belemnite rostra, including age, locality, taxon. Missing element concentrations and ratios are calculated within the Excel file. S2: All RevBayes script and input files used for the analyses and resulting tree and log files, including summary trees. The three folders correspond to the files used in the phylogenetic analysis, estimation of evolutionary rates and sensitivity analyses, respectively. S3: Excel file containing statistical information on the distribution of Mg/Ca and Sr/Ca ratios across the tree. The reference tree is the MCC tree of cluster B. Location of nodes is indicated by parent nodes (PN), which refers to an identifier (ID) of a node or sampled ancestor. Values in red are caluculated directly from the data (File S1), while values in black represent nodes that were calculate using the Brownian Motion model.
