Mammal Species of the World

Mammal Species of the World, 3rd edition (MSW3)是一个哺乳动物分类学数据库，包含哺乳动物的科学名称、分类层级和地理分布信息。该数据库按目、亚目、科、亚科、属、种和亚种组织，每个记录包含科学名称、作者、原始发表引用、通用名、模式种、模式产地、分布、状态和同义词等信息。该数据库由美国哺乳动物学会在约翰霍普金斯大学出版社的支持下编制。Mammal Species of the World, 3rd edition (MSW3) is a mammalian taxonomy database containing scientific names, taxonomic hierarchies and geographic distribution data of mammals. Organized by taxonomic ranks including order, suborder, family, subfamily, genus, species and subspecies, each record in the database encompasses information such as scientific name, author, original publication citation, common name, type species, type locality, distribution, taxonomic status and synonyms. This database was compiled by the American Society of Mammalogists with the support of Johns Hopkins University Press.
