Effects of Australian Seaweeds on gut microbiol

This study investigates the effects of various Australian seaweed species on the composition and diversity of the porcine gut microbiota using an in vitro fermentation model. Fecal samples from pigs were incubated with different seaweed substrates, and microbial shifts were assessed through 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing at multiple time points during incubation. The aim of the research is to evaluate the potential of Australian seaweeds as functional ingredients for modulating gut health.
