收藏资源简介:
JUAHCO (Jazan University Arts and Humanities Corpus) is a specialized institutional corpus designed to document and enable the analysis of research writing produced by Jazan University faculty members in the Arts and Humanities, as defined by Scopus field and subfield classifications. The corpus spans 2010 to 2025 and includes 187 research files, with a total of approximately 1.03 million tokens. It offers a diachronic and institution-specific record of scholarly writing that reflects the development of academic production within a Saudi university context over fifteen years.MethodologyThe corpus was compiled through a systematic selection of Jazan University research outputs indexed in Scopus and filtered according to Arts and Humanities subject classifications. Only publications affiliated with Jazan University and falling within the designated disciplinary scope were included. The resulting files were organized as a structured research corpus to support linguistic, rhetorical, and disciplinary analysis. The corpus was built with transparency and replicability in mind, making it suitable for future expansion and reuse in related research projects.SignificanceJUAHCO is significant because it represents an original and institutionally grounded resource for the study of academic writing in English in a Saudi higher-education setting. It preserves the scholarly record of the university in a form that can be analyzed linguistically, rhetorically, and diachronically. It also provides a locally relevant alternative to imported reference corpora that may not fully reflect the discourse practices of Saudi academics in the humanities and arts.Reuse and Intended ApplicationsJUAHCO is intended for a wide range of scholarly and pedagogical uses, including:Corpus linguistics research.Academic writing and genre analysis.Discourse and rhetorical studies.Metadiscourse, stance, and phraseology research.Academic writing instruction and materials development.Postgraduate training and data-driven learning.
