An open dataset of survey-calibrated origin-destination matrices for England and Wales
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides estimated origin–destination (OD) trip volumes between 7,264 Middle layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs) in England and Wales, using 2021 MSOA geography. The matrices combine aggregate mobile network mobility data supplied by BT with National Travel Survey and population evidence, covering the reference period September 2024–September 2025. The release contains 70 adjusted matrix CSV files: Typical week: Seven matrices, one per travel mode, representing all-purpose trips across a representative seven-day week. These incorporate population uplift, mode calibration and road-mode splitting, before mode/time raking and purpose allocation. Values represent five average weekdays plus two average weekend days. Weekday AM peak: Seven all-purpose matrices and 56 purpose-specific matrices, covering seven modes and eight purposes. These include mode/time adjustment and, for the purpose-specific files, purpose allocation and calibration. Values represent trips during one average weekday morning peak, 07:00–09:59. The seven travel modes are walking, cycle, private car, motorcycle, bus, rail and subway. The eight estimated purposes are commuting, employer business, education, shopping, personal business, social/leisure, visiting family and friends, and holiday/day trip. Each CSV contains origin MSOA codes in rows and destination MSOA codes in columns. Cell values are estimated person-trip volumes and may be fractional. Filenames identify the time period, travel mode and, where applicable, trip purpose. The dataset is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
