Number of municipalities with rental bikes at railway stations in Japan 2009-2021

As of August 2021, according to a national survey, 494 municipalities in Japan had bicycle rentals in areas around train stations, increasing from 469 two years earlier. Private operators provided most of the rental bicycles.
