The freshwater snail Oncomelania hupensis, the sole intermediate host of Schistosoma japnicum, has its distribution and adaptation are closely tied to the geological evolution of the Yangtze River. To explore the evolution history and adaptations of O. hupensis, we re-sequenced 291 O. hupensis accessions from 32 geographic locations across the middle and lower Yangtze River.
