FOCCUS WP9 MS9.1 Applications prototype: ESC2 - 2.1.2 - Off-shore windfarm operation & co-use of resources in the German Bight

The dataset contains results from an unstructured model simulation of the southern North Sea with a focus on an offshore wind farm. The numerical model resolves the monopiles of the wind farm with a resolution of 2.5 m. The simulation represents the physical and biogeochemical dynamics based on the numerical modelling framework SCHISM-FABM-ECOSMO which is able to include co-use of ressources coupling also a dynamic energy budget model for lower-trophic level aquaculture organism. In the v0.1 of the dataset, the following variables can be viewed in the dataset: sea surface temperature (SST), sea surface salinity (SSS), velocity u(x), velocity v(y) and chlorophyll a (chl). In v0.1 of the dataset, the time series of these variables can be averaged for the area (1d variables) and the daily mean for the area (2d variables) can be selected and viewed, e.g. using the netcdf viewer ncview. The time period covered is 29 April to 8 May 2020 and the horizontal resolution of the gridded dataset is ~ 50m.
