Issuing visas to foreigners, publication of 26 January 2023

Visas issued to foreigners include three categories. Transit visas allow the crossing of a state of the Schengen area to a third country or passage through the international airport transit zone during an international stopover. Schengen short-stay visas are valid in metropolitan France and other Schengen Member States, with rare exceptions and special conditions for the Overseas Territories. Long-stay visas are valid throughout France. The 2022 figures published here are provisional, the final version will be published in June 2023.
