Processed 2021 Census of Population Data for Canada's Census Metropolitan Areas and Census Agglomerations (Parquet)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides a processed Parquet version of Statistics Canada’s 2021 Census of Population data for the census metropolitan area (CMA) and census agglomeration (CA) geographic level in Canada. It is based on the 2021 Census Profile comprehensive download files published by Statistics Canada, specifically the Census metropolitan areas (CMAs) and census agglomerations (CAs) geography. Within the 2021 Census Dictionary, a census metropolitan area (CMA) or a census agglomeration (CA) is defined as one or more adjacent municipalities centred on a population centre (the core); a CMA must have a total population of at least 100,000, with 50,000 or more living in the core, while a CA must have a core population of at least 10,000, and adjacent municipalities are included based on a high degree of integration with the core as measured by commuting flows. This release is part of the Data for Canada d4c-datapkg-statistical collection and is intended to support machine-readable, reproducible analysis using modern data tools and workflows.
