资源简介:
SummaryThis dataset consists of one .xlsx, one .docx and one .csv file relating to the “Integrating a neonatal healthcare package for Malawi” project. This project is conducting mixed-methods to understand capacity of quality newborn care and implementation factors for the scale-up of newborn health innovations at health facilities in Malawi. The data are the outputs of a facility assessment tool called the Integrated Maternal, Neonatal and Child Quality of Care Assessment and Improvement Tool (version April 2014) is a standardized facility assessment tool developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) that examines both quality of care as well as quantity and availability. Modules related to neonatal care were used in delivery of the facility survey in four health facilities including three district-level hospitals (two government district hospitals and one private mission hospital)and one primary health centre in southern Malawi in November 2017.These data could be used by other researchers to understand barriers and facilitators to implementing innovative technologies in resource constrained settings and as a baseline for the scale up of neonatal care packages in Malawi.Data descriptionFacility assessment.xlsx contains the survey outputs of the Integrated Maternal, Neonatal and Child Quality of Care Assessment and Improvement Tool. Variables assessed included infrastructure, ward layout, organisation of care including staffing, emergency care, in patient care, infection control and supportive care, essential drugs, equipment and supplies, case management, and monitoring and follow up. Dimensions of the dataset are by facility, which will be described by type and linked with the qualitative dataset by number of health facility.Qualitative dataset.csv contains health worker perspectives on barriers and facilitators to implementation of bubble continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and includes the following variables: training, initiation, monitoring, perceptions of health care workers, perceptions of mothers and guardians, daily living activities for neonates, infrastructure and supplies. Dimensions of the dataset are by facility type and health worker cadre. Health facility numbering is be the same as in the facility survey to provide a link between the two datasets in this database.Detailed description of methodology.docx contains background information on the project, study sites, and methodology for collecting the datasets and technical validation. ReferencesThe four references below include three research articles based on this data, and a link to the Integrated Maternal, Neonatal and Child Quality of Care Assessment and Improvement Tool (version April 2014).
