Ethnic Fragmentation and Electoral Violence

State-level events data on political violence collated from ACLED. It covers all 28 Indian states and 8 Union Territories from 2016-2023. <br><br>Ethnic voting index is calculated for each state and UT based on Least-squares index.<br><br>Effective number of parties is calculated based on Laakso and Taagpera index.<br><br><br>It also contains data on other variables like NSDP per capita, Percentage of Urban population, percentage of SC, ST and OBC, percentage of working age population.
