NuSTAR observations of the recent classical nova V1674 Her will test andconnect theories of intermediate polars (white dwarfs accreting througha disrupted disk and a magnetic stream) and of nova outbursts. The highenergy spectrum and the X-ray luminosity at quiescence allow to estimate thewhite dwarf mass the accretion rate and the accretion disk and columnparameters. Measuring the dependence of the spin period amplitude onenergy range will constrain the absorption effects and the geometry ofthe accretion columns. A coordinated XMM-Newton exposure will measureabsorption and complete the physical picture with the spectrum and thetiming of the residual soft emission from the polar caps. [truncated!
