The aim of the study was to investigate the bacterial community diversity, composition and structure by means of 16S rRNA gene high-throughput amplicon sequencing, in the rhizosphere and phyllosphere of halophytes and drought-tolerant plants in Mediterranean Ecosystems with different soil properties. The locations of the sampled plants included high alkaline high saline-sodic soils, high acidic soils, and the volcanic nutrient-poor and nutrient-rich soils of the Santorini Island.
