This dataset compares hourly atmospheric PM2.5 concentrations reported by U.S. embassies and local government-controlled monitoring stations in five mainland Chinese cities between January 2015 and June 2017. The data was used to detect evidence of air quality data misreporting in China, and supports an article currently forthcoming in PLOS One.
