资源简介:
The growing interest in extending modulation excitation with phase sensitive detection (ME-PSD) methods to total neutron scattering (TNS) has highlighted a need to establish a robust methodological and analytical framework for this approach. This Rapid Access Proposal, for time on SANDALS or NIMROD, is urgently needed to support the delivery and timely development of existing (a Diamond, ISIS and Paul Scherrer Institute collaborative International Science Partnership Fund) and proposed (a Manchester University led EPSRC Programme Grant (REVEAL)) projects, as well as establish a quantitative baseline that can enhance the ongoing analysis of data that was collected during a now-completed ISIS-Diamond-Manchester Facility Development Studentship project (A. Ibraliu - PhD). The proposal is thus centred on the collection of a series of well-constrained TNS datasets that can be used to facilitate a quantitative test of the practical limits for applying ME-PSD approaches on present-day neutron scattering instrumentation.
