资源简介:
This dataset pertains to a study on foliar water uptake (FWU) as a drought mitigation strategy among canopy tree species in Central Africa. It includes data collected during leaf submersion experiments and turgor loss point measurements.
The study sampled leaves from 34 trees across 10 canopy tree species in Lopé National Park, Gabon, with five replicates per species in June 2023. FWU capacity was evaluated using the submersion protocol outlined by Limm et al. (2009), involving 2-hour and 5-hour water submersions. Leaf fresh and submerged water potentials were measured using a Scholander pressure chamber, while turgor loss points were estimated using a thermocouple psychrometer.
