Clec12a is most highly expressed in myeloid lineages including macrophages. This study aims to understand the effect on the microbiota of Clec12a deficiency and how Clec12a deficient macrophages respond to a microbe found to be enriched in Clec12a-/- mouse intestines, which also exacerbates DSS-induced colitis.
