资源简介:

(UNCLASSIFIED) Liberia has been dealing with the fallout of two recent civil wars, causing instability and poor infrastructure. As a result, Liberia is not a tourist location nor offers a large amount of cultural locations. Prior to the civil war there was a vibrant art community that was severely impacted. The National Museum of Liberia is located in the capital of Monrovia and resides in the former legislature building. The museum was looted during the civil wars although a number of masks and ceramics have been salvaged. Photo and art exhibits showing the culture and ethnicity of Liberia have been included at the National Museum. The Williams V.S. Tubman University Museum focuses on cultural material for the south eastern region. Monrovia is also home to the Centennial Memorial Pavilion, a hall built in 1947 to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Liberia’s independence. This is the site for the inauguration of Presidents.
