The aim of this study was to test existing paradigmatic models of coevolution by coupling phenotypic and genomic analyses of coevolving populations of bacteriophage lambda and Escherichia coli. We isolated and sequenced whole genomes of a total of 50 bacteria and 44 phage spread across multiple time points during coevolution. We also sequenced full population of phage and bacteria from one time point.
