Empirical studies on scientific misconduct and questionable research practices (2016–2025): descriptive dataset

This dataset contains bibliographic and high-level descriptive metadata for 229 empirical studies included in a scoping review of scientific misconduct and questionable research practices published between 2016 and 2025. The dataset was compiled to support descriptive mapping of the literature and includes information extracted from titles, abstracts, and publicly available metadata. It does not contain full texts, survey instruments, or detailed analytical coding schemes. The dataset is provided to support transparency and reproducibility of the review process. Interpretation, analytical categorisation, and synthesis are reported in the associated publication.
