The model cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 encodes a single DEAD-box RNA helicase, CrhR, that is induced under cold stress. However, most physiological functions of CrhR have remained unknown. To identify possible interaction partners of CrhR here we performed RNA-immunoprecipitation experiments with extracts from Synechocystis expressing a tagged mutant protein CrhR(K57A). We found that CrhR(K57A) is associated with different transcript types.
