ABSTRACT In order to understand the research on the chemistry teacher training from the sociology of science, the scientific paper aims to explore the theory of fields, formulated by Pierre Bourdieu with a direction in the area of Chemistry Teaching and in the structuring of the subfield of the chemistry teacher training (FPQ) based on the concepts of field, habitus, capital and subversion strategy. The field was discussed as a social space with a focus on the scientific field of chemistry (CCQ), the habitus of the agents, positions, disputes, interests and subversion strategies established by the FPQ subfield to reveal its space in chemistry. It is argued about these different configurations by the perspective at the FPQ subfield dominated in the field of chemistry, when analyzing the scientific production of the chemistry teaching area and the Acácia and Sucupira platforms for data collection. The praxiological methodology of Bourdieu was used in this process and his relational analysis to discuss about the strategies developed by the agents of the FPQ subfield in the CCQ to configure own capital and establish a movement of habitus recognition that is not the own habitus of the chemists. Among such strategies, the holding of scientific events stands out, production in journals in the area of Chemistry Teaching, training of masters and doctors in postgraduate programs in which agents seek to establish a scientific capital and space for the recognition of the subfield as belonging to the field of chemistry.
