HUNT One Health canine faecal metagenomes

Acute haemorrhagic diarrhoea syndrome (AHDS) in dogs is a condition of unknown aetiology. Providencia alcalifaciens is however suspected to play a role in some cases of disease as it occurred in high prevalence in an outbreak in Norway in 2019. The role of this bacterium as a constituent of the canine gut microbiota is unknown, hence this study set out to investigate its occurrence in healthy dogs through metagenomics. This project contains faecal microbiome samples obtained from Healthy dogs as part of the HUNT One Health project in Norway. LINK to HUNT_OH. These samples have been screened for the presence of sequences associated with the bacterial species P. alcalifaciens. The clean sequence data was generated by BGI Tech Solutions using the SOAPnuke software. The raw sequence data can be obtained through the HUNT One Health Project.
