Protest Behavior of Farmers

Protest readiness of farmers on the Lower Rhine. Topics: satisfaction
with current economic situation and future expectations; scale of
political alienation; intensity of neighborhood relations; agreement of
opinion in the neighborhood about agricultural policy; things in common
with the neighbors; necessity of involvement in agricultural policy;
internalized norms of political participation as well as legal or
illegal political protest; moral justification of use of violence
regarding things and persons to achieve political goals; readiness for
participation in selected forms of political protest: participation in
election boycott, affixing stickers on cars and tractors, participation
in collecting signatures as well as a market boycott, participation in
a permitted demonstration, refusal to pay installments, bills or taxes,
occupying offices, halting traffic or blocking border-crossings with a
demonstration as well as participation in citizens´ initiatives; degree
of perceived political effectiveness (scale); expected positive and
negative sanctions; reaction of relatives, neighbors and authorities to
participation in political actions; full-time or part-time company;
size of entire area under agricultural use in hectares; size of leased
area; development perspectives of the company; self-classification of
social class; relative satisfaction with income; year of birth;
education level; leisure time; member in the German Farmers
Association; knowledge about the association ´Baeuerliche
Landwirtschaft´ {Farmer Agriculture}; having an office in the
association ´Baeuerliche Landwirtschaft´ or in another organization.
