Background: Acute cervical spinal cord injury (cSCI) disrupts supraspinal regulation of sympathetic cardiovascular control, resulting in autonomic dysfunction. Heart rate variability (HRV), particularly when analyzed with nonlinear dynamic metrics, provides a sensitive index of integrative autonomic regulation.
