The Power of Recordkeeping Literacy: Weaving Personal Recordkeeping Stories into the Tapestry of the Workplace Narrative

For recordkeeping professionals, communicating the intrinsic importance of recordkeeping across the workplace has always been an ongoing challenge. This research therefore focuses on building a comprehensive definition of recordkeeping literacy. This work utilises a narrative enquiry approach to undertake research into an innate context, that is, records created by and used within the family around and for their children. The work then draws upon these family recordkeeping stories to ascertain if such small stories can be used to improve the way in which recordkeeping is communicated and understood within Australian workplaces.
