资源简介:

The ReHousIn project aims to spark innovative policy solutions towards inclusionary and quality housing. To achieve this, it investigates the complex relationship between green transition initiatives and housing inequalities in European urban and rural contexts, and develops innovative policy recommendations for better and context-sensitive integration between environmentally sustainable interventions and socially inclusive housing. The database contains the results of a study on urban greening and gentrification. Each GeoPackage (.gpkg) file includes spatial data representing the share of green areas by statistical units for the years 1991 (field GR_91), 2001 (field GR_01), 2011 (field GR_11), and 2021 (field GR_21) for the following cities: Barcelona, Budapest, London, Milan, Oslo, Paris, Vienna, and Warsaw. The share of green areas for each reference year was calculated based on satellite imagery using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The procedure used to compute the green area share follows the code provided in the accompanying files gee_NDVI_processing and ndvi_allyears_stats. For each city (i.e. each GeoPackage file), a gentrification indicator was also calculated (field GIXX_XX, where XX_XX denotes the years for which the indicator was computed). The indicator takes binary values (0 or 1), where a value of 1 indicates that a given statistical unit experienced gentrification during the analysed period. The gentrification indicator was computed following the methodology proposed by Friesenecker et al. (2025).
