This dataset provides annualized impact intensity factors for the surface albedo-induced climate impacts of different land-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) activities as described in the article "Surface albedo effects counteract nearly one-fifth of carbon dioxide removals pledged under the Paris Agreement". When using the dataset, please cite the article and provide reference to this zenodo repository. The impact intensity factors are provided at a 0.5 degree resolution as .csv files. The type of CDR activity is indicated in the file name, with "wc" meaning "with cropland conversion". Specific descriptions of each activity can be found in the article. Each file includes: location information: the latitude and longitude of the center of the grid cell the average monthly and yearly difference in the surface albedo between the current land cover and the CDR type (denoted by the month followed by 'alb-delta') the average monthly and yearly radiative forcing caused by the change in the surface albedo between the current land cover and the CDR activity (denoted by the month followed by 'RF') in units of W/m2 (normalized to 1 m2 of occupied area) Global warming potentials for 100- and 500- year time horizons, in units of kg CO2e per m2 of land converted per year the CDR activity remains on the land (denoted as GWP100 and GWP500, respectively) The data has also been aggregated to the country level (indicated by "country" included in the file name), where the location information as latitude and longitude values are replaced by location descriptions.
