The introduction of new reporting forms in\nApril 2003 has led to some significant breaks in series and affected\ndefinitions and categories shown for these institutions. There are other\nbreaks from time to time in the historical data due to changes in the number\nof reporting corporations. Details of data reported by individual corporations\nare confidential.\n\nSince December 1999, the collections cover RFCs whose assets in Australia\n(including related corporations) exceed $50A million. Prior to December 1999,\nthis threshold was set at $5A million. Prior to\nApril 2003, this series includes cash and deposits and placements with banks\nand RFCs.\n\nFrom April 2003, :Cash and liquid assets - Other-C/ includes\ngold bullion and deposits and placements with clearing houses and other (non-\nAFI) financial institutions. Prior to April 2003, this series includes\ndeposits and placements with all institutions other than banks and RFCs. This\nseries also includes placements with authorised money market dealers prior to\nAugust 1996.\n\n:Trading and investment securities - Debt-C/ includes\ncommercial paper and promissory notes, bills of exchange and all other debt\nsecurities held by all counterparties.\n\nAll series under :Loans and advances-C/ include finance lease\nreceivables.\n\n:Loans and advances - Household-C/ includes housing and other\npersonal loans to households.\n\nFrom April 2003, :Loans and advances - Business-C/ includes\nloans to the following counterparties: private trading corporations, private\nunincorporated businesses, public non-financial corporations, community\nservice organisations and other (non-AFI) financial institutions. Prior to\nApril 2003, this series includes loans to all counterparties other than\nhouseholds and RFCs, and also includes bills of exchange accepted by the\nreporting corporation.\n\nFrom April 2003, :Loans and advances - AFIs-C/ includes loans\nto AFIs. Prior to April 2003, this series only includes loans to RFCs (loans\nto other AFIs are included in :Loans and advances -\nBusiness-C/).\n\nFrom April 2003, :Borrowings from residents - Borrowings from\nAFIs-C/ includes deposits and placements due to AFIs and short-term loans\nfrom ADIs. Prior to April 2003, this series includes borrowings from banks and\nrelated RFCs.\n\nFrom April 2003, :Borrowings from residents - Deposits and\nplacements-C/ includes deposits and placements due to the following\ncounterparties: private trading corporations, private unincorporated\nbusinesses, public non-financial corporations, community service organisations\nand other (non-AFI) financial institutions.\n\nFrom April 2003, :Borrowings from residents - Other-C/ includes\nborrowings by the issue of promissory notes, bills of exchange and other debt\nsecurities, short-term loans from non-ADIs and all long-term loans.
