Disposable income of households and its components in NRW

Definition: The disposable income of households arises when the primary income of households — on the one hand, those monetary social benefits (e.g. old-age and survivors’ pensions, unemployment benefits) and other current transfers received by households predominantly from the State; and — on the other hand, the current transfers to be made by private households themselves (e.g. taxes on income and wealth, social contributions). The disposable income of households therefore corresponds to the income ultimately available to households to use it for livelihoods, social participation and saving purposes. In order to calculate disposable income per inhabitant, disposable income of households is divided by the number of inhabitants of North Rhine-Westphalia. The presentation as income in current prices is in the income level of the current reporting year, i.e. their evidence has not been adjusted for the inflation rate. Note: A general review was carried out in 2014.This was primarily aimed at introducing the new European System of National Accounts (ESA 2010) across Europe. ESA 2010 is based on the worldwide new System of National Accounts (SNA 2008) and replaced the previous ESA 1995.As part of this revision, the base year for the calculations changed from 2005 to 2010.
