Food waste is a global issue, and approximately 783 million people worldwide still suffer from hunger. The CnOpenData Global Food Loss and Waste Dataset has collected and organized data on the causes of food loss and waste from scientific literature reviews and the FAO Statistical Database. Covering food waste situations in over 120 countries globally since 1966, the dataset includes information such as country, region, food category, loss amount/ratio, loss causes, sample size, and references. It is designed to assist scholars in researching and quantifying food loss and waste across various stages of food value chains and geographic regions.
