Deep-Time Calcareous Nannofossil Database

The Deep-Time Calcareous Nannofossil Database (CNDB), built upon the Extending Ocean Drilling Pursuits Project (eODP, 10,5250 data entries) database with an additional 531 studies and 84,027 data entries, totaling 189,277 entries. This database contains first and last occurrences for 344 accepted genera and 2,630 species collected from 2566 sampling sites spanning the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Constrained by biostratigraphy, the CNDB provides numerical age bounds for individual FO and LO records, where sufficient chronological information is available: the uncertainty of age estimate is less than 4.84 Myr for 92.64% of the records and less than 2.42 Myr for 75.91% of the records. The database also includes morphological, biostratigraphic, geographic, and paleogeographic information, supporting spatially explicit analyses of calcareous nannoplankton diversity, turnover, and biogeographic change through geological time.
