Economic Assessment of Structural and Biological Conservation Measures in Taham Watershed, Iran

This research examines the economic benefits of the two approaches within the same watershed: the construction of 578 improvement check dams as a structural measure and the implementation of enclosure and pit-seeding as a biological measure within the Taham watershed of Zanjan Province, Iran. The study assesses the costs of implementing these measures and the benefits derived from sediment and nutrient trapping (carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) in check dams, as well as the erosion control and sediment prevention in biological measures. The cost-benefit ratio of both approaches was calculated. In Excel file each column and Sheet is related to B/C ratio calculation of structural and biological soil and water conservation approaches independently.
