Rasters of filtered iSDM predictions of habitat suitability for maire tawake (Syzygium maire) in the Greater Wellington Region of Aotearoa New Zealand

Continuous and discrete rasters of filtered iSDM predictions of suitable habitat for maire tawake (waiwaka, swamp maire, Syzygium maire) in the Greater Wellington Region of New Zealand. The continuous suitability variables are provided in GWRSM-SDM_filtered_predictions.tif. The continuous values have been grouped into categories to assist with interpretation in GWRSM-SDM_filtered_predictions_categorzied.tif. In both rasters, negative values indicate less suitable than average habitats and positive values indicate more suitable than average habitats. Areas not covered by the raster are unsuitable for maire tawake due to being too cold or containing no patches of suitably waterlogged soils. The New Zealand Landcover Database 6 (2023) polygons (https://lris.scinfo.org.nz/layer/123148-lcdb-v60-land-cover-database-version-60-mainland-new-zealand/) were used to exclude areas of alpine vegetation at altitudes above the presumed lower temperature limit of maire tawake (cover classes 15 = "Alpine Grass/Herbfield", 43 = "Sub Alpine Shrubland", & 55 = "Tall Tussock Grassland"). Raster resolution is x = 101.444 m, y = 101.479 m.
