Overtaking and side spacing data between bicycles and motor vehicles

Too close overtaking is stressful for cyclists and prevents people from using their bike in general or on certain routes. The data set records the results of side spacing measurements between bicycles and motor vehicles. The OpenBike sensors used for this purpose are attached to the bicycles. The data was collected using ultrasonic sensors and reproduces the side distance to the left (to the overtaking or passing vehicle) and to the right, as well as GPS position, date and time. This data can be used to analyse at which points in road traffic it becomes particularly narrow and potential hazards and problems to be identified.
