Wikipedia discussion closures December 2023

The dataset was compiled by reviewing archive pages of 8 different English Wikipedia fora (Articles for Deletion, Redirects for Discussion, Categories for Discussion, Templates for Discussion, Miscellany for Deletion, Deletion Review, Requests for Closure, and the Administrators’ Noticeboard/Incidents). Initially, the search included only discussions opened in the month of December 2023. Due to the idiosyncrasies of how Wikipedia archives are organized, some discussions outside this date range were also included. Further, for some of the lower-traffic fora (such as DRV and MfD), the date range for these discussions was expanded to include discussions opened in November, October, and September of the same year in order to provide more data points for analysis. Discussions without formal closures are excluded from the dataset. Four further discussions were excluded as they were resolved by editors unaware of the discussion taking actions that rendered it a moot point, leading to a procedural closure.
