Economic and Social Survey in the Netherlands; industries (SBI 2008)

This table provides up-to-date information, including margins of uncertainty, on the opinions of Dutch entrepreneurs about the realisations, expectations and judgments regarding their business. With the help of this panel research we gain insight into the current situation, the future development and the judgments of the Dutch business community. This makes it possible to signal changes in optimism or pessimism at an early stage, with which an indication of a possible trend change in the economic activities of Dutch business is available at an early stage. The data shall be broken down by business activities: sections, divisions and codes (SBI 2008). The questions submitted to economic operators at the beginning of a quarter include production, turnover, prices, orders, stocks, investments, competitiveness, economic climate, staff size and the obstacles encountered by entrepreneurs. In answering the questions relating to developments in the past three months and to expectations for the next three months, entrepreneurs are asked to make a comparison with the preceding three-month period.
