Soil map of Lower Saxony 1: 50 000 — Location-dependent compression sensitivity

According to § 17 of the Federal Soil Protection Act, the compaction of the soil caused by man is one of the harmful soil changes. The map “Location-dependent compaction sensitivity” (VDST) shows the potential compaction sensitivity of the soil affected by texture, storage and humus content when driving on heavy agricultural or construction machinery, extended by location factors such as soil moisture (soil-based moisture level), solidifications and skeletal content. The VDST is shown in 7 levels.
