In-situ Hydrodynamic & Sediment Transport Measurements

This project provides in-situ measurements of hydrodynamic and sediment transport processes during Hurricane Harvey on either side of two barrier islands along the Texas coast. Data includes time series of pressure in the surf zone, backshore, and back-barrier environments; current velocities and suspended sediment concentrations in the surf zone; and atmospheric (barometric) pressure. This data set can be used to calibrate and improve numerical models and predictive tools of storm processes and impacts to coastal infrastructure.
