Evolutionary history of butterflies and moths

First comprehensive study on the evolution, phylogeny and divergence dates of butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera) derived from NGS RNA-Seq data (transcriptomes). The dataset comprises more than 2,000 single copy protein coding genes and was analyzed using different matrices and dating schemes. Results imply that the majority of lepidopteran lineages diversified in the Cretaceous.
