Gut bacterial profile of patients affected with COVID-19 in Brazil

This project investigates the intestinal bacterial profile of COVID-19 patients in Brazil, focusing on the bacteriome's signature and its correlation with systemic inflammatory markers. Utilizing metabarcoding of the V6 region of the 16S rRNA gene and sequencing through the Ion PGM Torrent platform, the study aims to uncover microbial dynamics associated with COVID-19 pathophysiology and their potential impact on gut health and systemic inflammation.
