Overview map Wuppertal 1:40.000 (Raster)

The overview map Wuppertal 1:40.000 (UEK40) is a last updated at the end of 2017 visualisation of the vector data stock of the official city map Wuppertal for the scale range 1:20.000 to 1:40.000. The official map of Wuppertal is, for its part, a map of the city of Wuppertal, managed by the City of Wuppertal until the end of 2020, and its surroundings for the scale range 1:10.000 to 1:20.000. Compared to the grid data of the Official City Map, the UEK40 was adapted to the target scale by the following generalisation measures: thinned card fonts with larger fonts, reduced signature, omission of some surface contours as well as representation of settlement areas instead of individual residential buildings. When using the UEK40 as a background map for true-to-ground spatial data or position information from satellite navigation systems, situational deviations in the order of 10 meters arise due to the generalisation of the underlying official city map. The official city map Wuppertal is a spatial excerpt from a uniform urban planning plant, which was managed by many cities and districts on the Rhine and Ruhr as well as in the Bergisches Land in cooperation with the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) until the end of 2020. For this purpose, the RVR provided the specialist procedure “Digital Urban Plan Plant Ruhrgebiet” with a central data storage component (geodata server of the RVR). The City of Wuppertal derived from these data as far as an update requirement existed in a semi-annual cycle, among other things, grid data of the UEK40, which were used for analogue and digital publications of the data. The historical raster data from the last revision will be provided to users in 910 km x 10 km tiles in different colours in the format TIFF with World File (TFW) (25 cm x 25 cm when printed in 1:40.000). They are available under an open data license (CC BY 4.0).
